Come help us grow the season.

There's always more to do on forty-four acres than a few pairs of hands can manage. We're looking for people who want to dig in through the season: planting in spring, tending through summer, bringing in the harvest come fall. Come spend a day with us for shared meals, or live on the property and work the farm alongside us.

What the work is

Honest work and a good meal.

We won't dress it up. Farming is early mornings and dirt under your nails. It's also good work, done together, with a real meal at the end of it. Here's what a day or a season usually looks like.

Hands in the soil

Planting beds, weeding rows, mulching, building, watering, picking. Whatever the season asks for that week. You'll learn it by doing it, next to people who know the land.

A shared table

Every group workday comes with real food: lunch and dinner cooked from the farm and eaten together. The meal is a big part of why we do it this way.

A place to belong

For a few people, that means living on the property and working the farm as part of daily life. For everyone else, it means having a hand in how this place grows.

Spend a day, share a meal.

Through the season we run group projects like a planting push, a build, or a big harvest day. Come out for the day, work alongside the crew, and sit down to a meal together once it's done. Anyone willing to learn and pitch in is welcome.

Live here, work the land.

A few people will live on the property in exchange for ongoing work through the season: planting, daily maintenance, and harvest. It's for people who want to be part of the rhythm of the farm rather than just visit it. We keep it small and we choose carefully.

A few questions.

Do I need farming experience?
No. Group workdays are open to anyone willing to learn and work hard. For the live-on residency we look for some hands-on experience, but heart and reliability matter more than a resume.
What's the difference between the two tracks?
Group workdays are single days of shared work traded for a meal together. The residency is for a small handful of people who live on the property and work the farm on an ongoing basis through the season.
Do I get paid?
These are work-exchange opportunities, not paid roles. Group days are traded for shared meals, lunch and dinner from the farm. The residency is traded for lodging on the property.
Where is the farm?
Forty-four acres in the Sierra Nevada foothills outside Nevada City, California.
How many residency spots are there?
A handful. We keep it small on purpose, so the people who live here fit the place and each other.
